Dupont Circle Facade Design

 Dupont Circle Façade Design

Design Goal: Taking cues from the neighboring buildings as well as the surrounding Dupont circle area to inspire the design of the façade. Through contextual diagraming a parti grid was formed that the façade design follows with a “strong” base that is also inspired by the Dupont circle’s buildings. To create a more open façade arches are used to invoke stability and strength while also mimicking a vault that leads viewer eyes up the building.

Program: Façade Design intrigues locals, visitors, and tourists into entering the door that leads into a café which has stairs that lead up to a café lounge area, and two floors of art gallery space.
